Production planning and scheduling
Every order gets a realistic production day, and every operation its workstation and shift.
Etrust PIS is production planning and scheduling software (APS) for make-to-order and make-to-stock production. Sales plan, MRP, order schedule and operation scheduling work on the same data as sales, warehouse and shop-floor data capture, so the plan is not a separate spreadsheet that has to be retyped every day.

Challenges
Challenges you know
- The plan lives in a spreadsheet edited by one person and stops holding when priorities change.
- Delivery dates are promised from memory, without looking at workstation load.
- The bottleneck only shows when work orders are already queuing at the workstation.
- Missing material is discovered when the work order is already on the shop floor.
- It is not clear which order is late and why.
Solution
How Etrust PIS plans and schedules
- Sales plan from history
The proposal of monthly quantities from order history takes seasonality into account and leaves out internal orders. Machines are planned together with additional equipment, spare parts by item. Increase or reduce the plan by a percentage and authorize it.
- MRP by priority
MRP calculates material and production requirements by order priority and deducts stock and open work orders. From a shortage you create a purchase order or production order in one step.
- Daily order schedule
Every authorized order gets its day on the order schedule for the whole year ahead. You choose the period in one click (overdue, today, this week, this month, from–to) and lock positions that must not move.
- Capacity band
Above the order list you see the used and available hours of each department for every day. Overloaded days are flagged, so you promise dates based on load, not from memory.
- Operation scheduling
Scheduling places all operations of open work orders onto workstations within the shifts of the work calendar in a few seconds. It respects the sequence of operations and sub-assemblies, setup on item change and the number of workers per shift.
- Preview and reason for delay
You review the result first: for every late position you see the expected finish, the delay and the workstation that limits it. Dates are saved only after you confirm, and dates in the frozen period do not move.
- Work calendar and shifts
Transfer department shifts to all its workstations in one click, and change the number of workers for a chosen period, even on an already confirmed calendar.
- Trustek AI
The assistant on every screen tells you why a work order is waiting, which material is missing and what comes next.
Frequently asked questions
Planning and scheduling in brief
What is production scheduling?
Scheduling determines when and on which workstation each work order operation is performed, based on the time available in shifts, the sequence of operations and the number of workers. The result is the expected start and finish of every operation and work order.
What is the difference between MRP and scheduling?
MRP calculates what and how much needs to be purchased and produced, and by when. Scheduling then places the operations onto workstations with finite capacity and shows whether the deadline holds and which workstation is holding it up.
Do I need a separate APS system?
No. Planning and scheduling work on the same data as sales, warehouse and shop-floor data capture, so there is no data transfer between programs. The whole plan is recalculated in a few seconds whenever you need it.
How much does planning and scheduling cost?
€100.00 per server per month, together with the Etrust MRP module (€170.00 per server per month). Prices exclude VAT and apply from 1 Jan 2027.
